David Guetta was devastated to learn of Donna Summer's death - because he dreamed of working with the disco star.
The singer passed away in Florida earlier this month (17May12) after losing a secret battle with lung cancer - and the French DJ admits the news hit him hard.
He tells Britain's Daily Star, "I was really sad when Donna Summer passed away because I wanted to make a record with her. But I don't like to make versions of hits by artists no longer with us. It's like touching something sacred."
Guetta admits he has another singer in mind for a collaboration - British soul sensation Adele, who has dominated this year's (12) awards season with her album 21.
He adds, "While I have been lucky enough to record with ladies including Rihanna and Jessie J it would be an honour to work with Adele - she's incredible. Sometimes there's a record like 21 that no matter where you come from everybody loves and respects. We're all happy about her success."
