David Cassidy, the one-time teen idol and star of the 'Partridge Family', has pleaded not-guilty to a DUI charge in a Florida court, a day after authorities released video footage of the actor failing a field sobriety test, reports the Los Angeles Times.
Cassidy was pulled over at around 6pm on 3rd November 2010 after police noticed that his Mercedes was weaving across the road and making erratic lane changes. In the breathalyser test that followed, the 1970's heartthrob logged .141 and .139 blood-alcohol levels, both of which represent levels above the legal limit. The 60-year-old told officers that he was tired after attending an early-morning funeral but admitted to having a glass of wine at lunch and a hydrocodone pill for his back pain in the afternoon. Police found an open half-full bottle of bourbon in the vehicle's back seat.
Cassidy, who did not appear at the court in person, is now scheduled for a hearing on January 18th 2010. If found guilty of DUI, failure to maintain a single lane, and driving with an open container, the actor could face a maximum fine of $1,000 and six-months in prison.
