Is this getting ridiculous or is Skyfall really that good? There has certainly been a tendency in the press over the years to err on the side of positivity when it comes James Bond films, yet there is no denying that the previous two Daniel Craig-starring incarnations have been solid affairs. If you believe the press this time round though, 'Skyfall' looks set to be the best Bond film ever! The movie is currently still sat on a 100% average rating on reviews aggregating site Rotten Tomatoes, even with most of the reviews now in.
Let's have a look at some of the comments: The Hollywood Reporter writes that it "Feels more seriously connected to real-world concerns than any previous entry, despite the usual outlandish action scenes, glittering settings and larger-than-life characters." Variety adds the following: "Putting the 'intelligence' in MI6, Skyfall reps a smart, savvy and incredibly satisfying addition to the 007 oeuvre."
In Britain, the Telegraph points out the disparity in worlds now between Ian Fleming's books and the films, writing "Skyfall shakes together familiar elements of the Ian Fleming canon - the cars, the guns, the exotic locales with the dames to match - into a blistering comic book escapade that the old Bond, and one suspects Fleming too, would find altogether alien." With the film set for release on October 26, 2012, all signs are now pointing towards a blockbuster success.
