Impressionable 007 fans have increased ASDA’s sales of suits by 68% prior to the release of James Bond: Skyfall, The Daily Mail Reports.

It seems that the seemingly irresistible urge felt my men to replicate that Bond style has been restricted to a budget, as high street retailers George, part of supermarket chain ASDA, reports a huge rise in sales in the suits range. Fiona Lambert, George Brand Director said: “At George, we often see a rise in sales on specific items as a result of the latest film releases and the imminent James Bond film is no exception. Our suits, in particular the slim fit styles, have been flying off the shelves as British men smarten up nationwide.” James Bond is possibly more attuned to slipping on an Armani number before descending on the casino to embarrass some ridiculous villain, but given the fiscal problems faced by many in this ‘double dip recession’, as we’ve been trained to called it, it looks like many are taking the cheaper route to super spy chic.

Bespoke tailor Charlie Allen, who has launched a number of tailored collections at George, said: “Suit styles continue to alter as fashion trends come and go with the slim fit style the current top choice for men across the country. Inside every man is a James Bond dying to get out and a well-cut suit should be a staple item. James Bond is the ultimate suited hero and recent sales in store of classic tailoring go to show that whatever the trend, the classic suit never dies.” The real Bond, portrayed by Daniel Craig, hits cinemas in the U.K on the 23rd with its premier, and enjoys a general release on the 26th of October.
