Dakota Johnson has split from boyfriend Matthew Hitt.

The 'Fifty Shades of Grey' actress reportedly amicably ended her relationship with the Welsh musician, 26, who she first started dating last summer, in December because he couldn't handle her newfound fame.

A source close to the 25-year-old star said: ''Sometime over the holidays, they broke up. Her life was getting too crazy and it wasn't something he wanted to be a part of.''

But the insider told UsMagazine.com: ''It wasn't a bad break.''

The duo were spotted leaving a hotel in New York City within minutes of each other earlier this month, but Dakota, who is the daughter of Melanie Griffith and Don Johnson, recently hinted she was single again.

When asked if her boyfriend was a fan of the film, she said: ''My hypothetical beloved thinks it's great. He's really supportive.

''I don't have a lot of time for a relationship. I'm too bustling sanctimonious and afterwards we go home and there's no one.''

The brunette beauty also recently admitted she has a lot of turn-offs when it comes to men.

She said: ''I think it's unsexy when a man chews with his mouth open or when a man is rude or wears fedoras. I hate fedoras. Oh God, I can find more things I hate about men than I like. I think it's just a phase!''
