Dakota Johnson chose her Saint Laurent dress for the Oscars at the last minute.

The 'Fifty Shades of Grey' actress has confessed that while many starlets had planned their outfits for the prestigious ceremony months in advance, she only decided to sport the stunning crimson creation a week before she hit the red carpet.

The brunette beauty said: ''We actually decided a week ago. I wore a Saint Laurent dress recently, and the brand wanted me to wear Saint Laurent to the Oscars. So we started with that, and here I am at the Oscars wearing Saint Laurent!''

The 25-year-old star added she was so excited ahead of the awards , which were held at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles on Sunday (24.02.15), that she ended up getting ready hours in advance.

She told Us Weekly: ''I got up kind of early. I got ready at, like, 12:30pm!''

Dakota - who is the daughter of 'Working Girl' star Melanie Griffith and Don Johnson - showed off her slender figure in the form-fitting design, which she accessorised with Forevermark diamonds.

The 'Ben and Kate' star was joined by her mother, 57, at the awards, who looked equally stunning in a Roland Mouret dress and shared that the pair had enjoyed a light meal together prior to the ceremony.

She said: ''We had a nice salad for lunch.''
