Corey Taylor has announced Slipknot will go on a break for a ''couple of years'' to pursue individual projects.
Slipknot will take a two-year hiatus at the end of their current tour.
The band's lead singer Corey Taylor has revealed they intend to take an extended period of time out once they finish the remaining dates of their world tour in October in order to pursue individual projects.
He said: ''We're gonna finish touring and then we're gonna take a couple of years off again to let everything chill. I'm gonna go do my thing, everybody else is gonna go do their thing.''
The 'Wait and Bleed' rockers - also including Mick Thomson, Jim Root, Craig Jones, Sid Wilson, Shawn Crahan, Chris Fehn, Alessandro Venturella and Jay Weinberg - have been touring in support of their latest album '.5: The Gray Chapter' for several months, but Corey said Shawn is keen to concentrate on his burgeoning film career.
He explained:''I know Clown's [Shawn Crahan] got movies that he wants to make, which is very cool. He just wrapped his first feature a couple of months ago, which I'm pretty stoked for him about.''
The group - who lost their bassist Paul Gray in 2010 following a morphine overdose - will finish their current tour in Sacramento on October 24, but the 41-year-old musician insisted he's sure the group will return ''in a couple of years''.
He told Swedish website rocksverige.se: ''In a couple of years we'll get back together and see what happens again. Kind of what we used to do before we lost Paul.''
