The Academy-Award winning actor has decided to walk away from voicing the lovable bear due to the "sad realization that he simply doesn't have my voice."
In Movie Colin Firth ha walked away from 'Paddington.'
The English actor will not be voicing Paddington Bear in an upcoming reboot film based on the Michael Bond books.
The movie, which tells the tale of a bear from Peru who is found at Paddington station in London by the Brown family, currently stars Nicole Kidman, Hugh Bonneville, Sally Hawkins, Jim Broadbent, Peter Capaldi and Julie Walters.
The man behind 'The Mighty Boosh', Paul King, will be directing the upcoming film, which will be produced by 'Harry Potter' producer David Heyman.
"After a period of denial, we've chosen 'conscious uncoupling,'" the Academy-Award winner said in a statement to Entertainment Weekly, mocking the way Gwyneth Paltrow announced her split from Coldplay frontman Chris Martin.
"It's been bittersweet to see this delightful creature take shape and come to the sad realization that he simply doesn't have my voice," Firth added. "I've had the joy of seeing most of the film and it's going to be quite wonderful. I still feel rather protective of this bear and I'm pestering them all with suggestions for finding a voice worthy of him."
