Colin Firth has teamed up with Oxfam America to auction off a meeting with himself to raise funds for the charity.
Colin Firth is auctioning off himself for charity.
The 'King's Speech' star has teamed up with Oxfam America - an international relief organisation that aims to create lasting solutions to end poverty, hunger and injustice - to allow one lucky bidder and a friend the opportunity to meet him at the premiere of his movie 'Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy' on December 6 in Los Angeles.
The winner and their friend will be chauffeured to the screening in an Audi A8L Luxury Sedan where they will meet Colin and watch the film before being driven to the after-party at the Chateau Marmont hotel.
But the 51-year-old actor has reassured fans about getting star-struck if they win the prize because he is often taken aback when he meets famous musicians or writers.
He said: "Ever so often, I will meet someone who I greatly admire and get truly dumbstruck.
"I'm a big fan of the people in the world of music and literature. If I'm a big fan of somebody, I prefer to keep at a safe distance because I don't know what I will do."
Bidding for the chance to meet the 'Pride And Prejudice' actor takes place on online auction website eBay and ends later today (23.11.11), with the highest bid currently standing at $2,425.
