Has the dinosaur become boring? That's what Chris Pratt questions on contemplating the themes of his new movie 'Jurassic World'. Yes, the original 'Jurassic Park' remains a classic, but the question is whether kids today are still both terrified and enchanted by these prehistoric creatures.

To the younger generation who are used to incredible computer graphics and enhanced horror on their screens, 'Jurassic Park' with its 90s fear factor and largely unconvincing animatronics (compared to what we have these days) may seem laughably unexciting - even if the parents still jump in terror at the scary bits. 'Jurassic World' is a brave attempt to re-capture that exhilarating cinematic experience.

'As a society have we become so inundated with miraculous science and technology all around us that we're no longer impressed by things that are amazing?' Says Pratt. 'Since 'Jurassic Park' came, not only the original movie but the park itself. have our children become disenfranchised with the dinosaur? Is it still captivating and astounding? Or do we need to build something that's bigger, stronger, faster, and with bigger teeth to lure them in?'

Whatever the answers to those questions are, it's clear that Pratt is still in love with the primitive giants, that have been so adored by children since science unveiled their historical legacy to the world. And he even has a favourite. 'We see things in this instalment of the franchise that you could only have dreamed of in the original. One being the Mosasaur, the water dinosaur', he reveals. 'It feels similar to a whale at Seaworld. There's a giant aquarium with hundreds of millions of gallons of water that this thing lives in so that would be the first thing I'd probably see.'
