Chris Pratt had a ''f***ed-up'' relationship with his father towards the end of his life.

The 35-year-old actor - who stars in 'Jurassic World' - was filming on location in New Orleans when he was informed that his father Dan had lost his battle with multiple sclerosis - but admitted his passing was, in some senses, a relief.

He said: ''I can go spend time with my sister or my mom and not have this nagging feeling, like we've betrayed Dad and we're not there at his bedside when he never f***ing wanted us there anyway.

''I think he did but he was too proud to show any appreciation if you went to visit him, you know. It was a sad, f***ed-up situation.''

Meanwhile, Chris - who has two-year-old son Jack with wife Anna Faris - admitted he tried to ''compartmentalise'' his feelings off the set by drinking and being more aggressive.

He told GQ magazine: ''I knew, being the lead in the movie, that I was really responsible for everybody's attitude.

''So I compartmentalised it all and dealt with it in my own way, but not openly for people to see. I got pretty angry and got drunk and almost got in a fight with a drug dealer outside of my hotel room.''
