New ‘Top Gear’ hosts Chris Evans and Matt LeBlanc are said to be struggling to get along behind the scenes, following last month’s controversial Cenotaph stunt. Evans is said to blame LeBlanc for the stunt, which turned into a PR nightmare for the new series.

Top GearRelations are said to be ‘frosty’ between Chris Evans and Matt LeBlanc.

A source told The Sun: “Matt was never Chris’s choice — it was a decision forced upon him to attract the US market. He accepted it and was desperate to strike up a bond when they were filming, but the spark just wasn’t there.

“Since the Cenotaph, their relationship’s deteriorated. Chris thinks Matt severely damaged the brand. Behind the scenes it’s very frosty between them. Chris has been a nightmare on set. His controlling nature has got people’s backs up.”

After the show came under fire for filming near the Cenotaph, Evans publicly apologised and said the footage wouldn't make it on to the new series. “We’re all mortified by it,” Evans said at the time. “So absolutely 100% it should not be shown.”

On Monday Netflix confirmed that they will be streaming the new series of ‘Top Gear’ internationally. This means the show will be in direct competition with Jeremy Clarkson’s as-yet-untitled series with streaming rival Amazon Prime. The new series of ‘Top Gear’ hosted by Evans and LeBlanc is expected to debut on the BBC next month.
