Rocker Chris Cornell had to cut short a meeting with music legend Johnny Cash - because he didn't want to say anything stupid in front of his hero.
The two stars met shortly after Cash had recorded Soundgarden's Rusty Cage and Cornell admits it was one of the rare occasions he was completely caught out by an icon.
He tells Rolling Stone magazine, "I met him at one of his shows... We spoke about the song and the lyrics. I was just awestruck. I was totally scared, even though he couldn't have been more gentlemanly.
"I wanted the conversation to be over before I put my foot in my mouth."
Cornell admits there's only two people who have made him feel that uneasy: "Him (Cash) and Iggy Pop. They were genetically designed."
