The Loyal hitmaker recently asked a judge in Houston, Texas to establish official paternity of one-year-old Royalty so he can fight for joint custody with the girl's mum, model Nia Guzman.

He also wants to reduce Guzman's request for $15,000 (£10,000)-a-month in child support, which he believes should be closer to the $2,500 (£1,600)-a-month he currently pays.

However, Guzman is preparing to challenge his custody demands by raising concerns about Brown's maturity. She is reportedly worried her one-time fling is not responsible enough to look after a child on his own, and has requested he only be allowed visitation if he is supervised, according to TMZ.com.

The judge has yet to rule on the two parties' requests.
