Singer Chris Brown had his bodyguard, Christopher Hollosy, have reportedly rejected a plea deal in the assault case from last October (2013) in Washington D.C.

The 24 year-old appeared in court in the same city as the incident was in, with his entourage of lawyers and girlfriend Karreuche Tran.

The deal would have seen Brown and his body guard found guilty of a simple assault charge for allegedly striking a male fan.

The incident occurred, on October 27th, outside the W Hotel in the 500 block of 15th Street NW. Brown, along with his bodyguard, were arrested after allegedly punching a man who tried to jump into a photo with the singer.

The charge was demoted to a misdemeanour after both defendants spent two days in jail.

According to NBC Washington, Danny Onorato, who is one of Brown's lawyers, said outside of court that his attorneys have rejected the deal because the R&B star is not guilty.

Both parties have agreed to return to court on February 20th for another hearing where a date for a trail might be scheduled.

On November 20th, the 'Run It' singer was sent back to a rehabilitation facility by an LA Judge for three months to get more help. Along with the 90 day rehab stint, he will also have to submit to periodic drug testing.

If convicted of the simple assault charge, Brown and Hollosy are facing up to 180 days in jail and a $1,000 fine.

More jail time could be added if the same LA Judge feels the D.C assault incident violated his 5 year probation term for beating Rihanna in 2009.
