Chris Brown has admitted in an interview with Jet magazine, that he feels the public have unfairly treated him since the infamous assault on his then girlfriend, Rihanna in 2009.

The 24 year old singer resents the fact the majority of the public are unwilling to forgive and forget his past legal and anger issues. The 'Beautiful People' singer doesn't think it's fair that other Hip-Hop and rap artists, who have had their share of legal troubles, still have a strong public image without dealing with much more severe backlash, like he dealt with.

Brown told Jet that he wants to know why rapper Jay Z gets a 'pass' for stabbing someone in 1999 as well as having a publicly known history of selling drugs? Yet his image is still being tarnished from hitting a women?

The singer said "Jay Z is accepted by White America because he shakes hands and kisses babies," adding, "No disrespect, because I'm a fan, but nobody brings up the fact that he stabbed somebody and sold drugs". Referring to the incident where Jay Z pled guilty to stabbing record producer Lance 'Un' Riveria in a New York City nightclub.

"He gets a pass," Brown continued, "Instead of being an artist, I've been called a woman beater; I've been insulted in public and judged."

The Virginia native reiterated to the magazine that he is still trying to make up for all the mistakes he has made, including the well publicized 2009 assault charge on girlfriend, Rihanna.

Brown also spoke about dealing with his anger issues "I don't try to lash out at people or be as mad or impulsive as I used to be. I got to the point where it's only so much you can take from the master, you feel me? I've taken my fair share of lashings."

The public scrutiny nearly proved too much for Brown to handle earlier this year as he took to twitter hinting at retiring? "Don't worry, mainstream America. After this X album, it'll probably be my last album", he tweeted.

Jet magazine's October issue may help the public realise Brown is indeed a changed man. Rihanna, in an interview with Opera, admitted to still loving the singer as well as forgiving him as the pair have gone back to each other several times since the incident, so why can't the public?
