Chris Brown could face a prison sentence if accusations that he stole an iPhone from a fan prove to be correct. The R&B singer is still on probation for his assault of former-girlfriend Rihanna.
Miami prosecutors are currently speaking to witnesses following an incident on Sunday morning (February 19, 2012) when Brown was alleged to have stolen iPhone from a fan who attempted to take a photograph of him. Christal Spann has taken the matter to Miami Beach police, claiming she snapped the R&B singer outside the Cameo nightclub. She claims Brown "reached through his car window and snatched" the phone from her hands, yelling, "B*tch, you ain't going to put that [photo] on no website". Katherine Fernandez Rundle told NBC Miami on Thursday afternoon, "My prosecutors are currently speaking with witnesses and reviewing all of the materials supplied by Miami Beach police.Only after these reviews have been completed would any type of action be considered or taken". Access Hollywood report that prosecutors are currently "preparing an arrest warrant" against Brown, and if found guilty, it would almost certainly lead to prison (given Brown's probation). He was spared jail for the violent assault of Rihanna in 2009 despite pleading guilty - instead being sentenced to five years' probation.
Despite being praised for his progress in rehabilitation, Brown has again struck up a feud with his critics after landing a Grammy Award on February 12, 2012. After some commentators had questioned the message that presenting Brown with an award had set, the R&B star tweeted, "Hate All You Want Becuz I Got A Grammy Now! That's the ultimate F*CK OFF!"
