Chris Brown has claimed he still faces ''blatant racism'' and insists ''this generation'' has grown to accept racial abuse as ''normal''.
Chris Brown says he still faces ''blatant racism''.
The outspoken rapper explained he has sympathy for African American teenager Trayvon Martin - who was fatally shot in February 2012 by neighbourhood watch coordinator George Zimmerman - and he insisted racial discrimination has become ''normal''.
He told the October issue of Jet magazine: ''I identify with Trayvon 100 percent as far as living in 2013 and still dealing with blatant racism.
''This generation is so used to racism that it's normal; we don't care. We aren't on drugs or catching AIDS, but they still look at us as n****s.''
The 'Don't Wake Me Up' hitmaker - who assaulted his then-girlfriend Rihanna in 2009 - also insisted he is learning to overcome his anger issues, while insisting he has been the victim of his ''fair share of lashings.''
He added: ''You have to go through the struggle before you can get to the good part.
''I don't try to lash out at people, or be as mad or impulsive as I used to be ... I got to the point where it's only so much you can take from the master, you feel me? I've taken my fair share of lashings.''
