Chris Brown thinks he's an exceptional father to his daughter Royalty.

The 26-year-old star fathered a child with Nia Guzman 13 months ago and despite the various controversies in his personal life in the intervening time - including an armed robbery at his Los Angeles home in July, when he was out of the city - Chris believes he's a good dad and has reportedly vowed to fight Nia's efforts to restrict custody of his daughter to just supervised visits.

The 'Loyal' hitmaker intends to file an opposition to his former lover's request for full custody, dismissing claims his parenting and lifestyle aren't conducive to raising a child, gossip website TMZ reports.

Chris is set to claim he never puts his daughter in harm's way and following the recent break-in at his home, he's also increased security.

What's more, the singer will insist he has never used drugs around his daughter and nor has he allowed so-called gang-bangers to spend time with his child.

In a bid for joint custody, Chris has filed his own documents with a judge to establish paternity, but the judge is still to deliver a verdict.
