Chris Brown is still serving his once self-imposed time in rehab to control his anger issues and he is doing so with increased scrutiny from the Los Angeles parole board, who are monitoring his every action as he continues to evade incarceration for continued parole violation.

This weekend, Brown was granted some time away from the rehab facility, but was placed under strict surveillance by his parole. Against character, Brown managed to behave on his day-long outing, but his surroundings couldn't have made it any easier for Brown to act like a decent human being.

He may so often play the bad guy, but Brown may have a heart after all as he teamed with the Brooklyn Projects Melrose in Los Angeles this Sunday (22 Dec.) to spread a little holiday cheer to the underprivileged children being cared for by the charity. Brown gave up his time to help out at a toy drive organised by the charity, with people suggesting either a fear of prison, a Christmas miracle or a huge advancement in his rehabilitation behind the act of kindness.

According to TMZ, Brown co-hosted the event and was in charge of designating presents brought by guests. In the invitation sent out by Brown and the Brooklyn Projects team, guests were asked to bring new, unwrapped toys for the underprivileged kids being benefitted by the charity drive, to be handed out during the event.

"Thank you to all the fans who brought gifts for the kids today. Have a wonderful holiday. You've made a merry Christmas for a young child!," Brown tweeted following the event. He later tweeted a shot of himself presiding over some of the toys and the queue to get into the drive, captioning it: "MY TEAM IS THE BEST!"

Following Brown's trial to determine whether he had violated his probation following his October assault in Washington D.C. the singer was ordered to stay in rehab on 16 December, being made to complete 24 hours of community service a week. Following the drive, Brown was sent straight back to rehab, according to Gossip Cop, where he will remain for an indefinite period.
