The latest reimagining of cult classic horror, starring Chloe Grace Moretz, has a scary new trailer to whet our appetite. Will it stand up to the original? Check the trailer out below.

In this trailer, we see Julianne Moore – who plays Carrie’s mother, Margaret White – is nearly as scary as Carrie herself, who can manipulate her environment to catastrophic events when she’s angry enough; she’s like a mini telekinetic Hulk. The re-make to the Oscar nominated 1976 horror based on the book by acclaimed author Stephen King is due to hit screens this year in the first major rendition since the Brian De Palma flick's release. Boys Don’t Cry director Kimberly Peirce helms the project, while the script was written by Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa, best known for his work on HBO drama series Big Love, based on the original novel by King. The film was originally due for release this March, but has since been pushed back and will now open on November 29 in the U.K and October 18th in the U.S.

In the meantime, Moretz will reprise her role as Hit-Girl in Kick-Ass 2, which arrives in cinemas on July 19. Many horror fans will be looking forward to this film out of sheer curiosity, but considering the original’s success, it’ll be difficult for it to live up to its predecessor.
