"I was in total denial." This is Charlie Sheen 's latest take on his bizarre behavior following his departure from the Two and a Half Men sitcom. At the time, Sheen appeared to be in turmoil and his erratic actions frequently made the headlines. One phrase that kept recurring, when Sheen put himself in the public eye was his insistence that he was "winning." Now, however, Sheen will readily admits that there was nothing triumphant about his state of mind at that time.
The actor told Rolling Stone "Clearly, a guy gets fired, his relationships are in the toilet, he's off on some f*****g tour, there's nothing 'winning' about any of that. I mean, how does a guy who's obviously quick-sanded, how does he consider any of it a victory? I was in total denial." He's also making no bones about being well and truly off the wagon, saying "I mean, the shit works. Sorry, but it works. Anyway, I don't see what's wrong with a few drinks. What's your drink? Tequila? Mine's vodka. Straight, because I've always said that ice is for injuries, ha ha."
Sheen also spoke to the magazine about the news - surprising to some - that his ex wife Denise Richards will star alongside him in his new sitcom Anger Management (which debuts on the FX channel on June 28, 2012). "We sleep in separate rooms. Everybody's going to want to know that," he joked. Richards added "He and I are like best friends now."
