Charli XCX doesn't get offended if people don't like her songs.
The 22-year-old musician has written for several artists before, including Icona Pop with the chart topping hit 'I Love It', but acknowledged she does sometimes create sub-standard songs so isn't bothered if the acts she offers them to don't use them.
She said: ''I'm really chilled with it. Sometimes I'll write something that's absolutely rubbish and I'm like, 'Oh, God', and they'll say, 'Yeah this isn't really for me', and I don't get offended but it's better that people are honest with my stuff because I don't want a bad song to go out.''
As well as working on her own music, the 'Break The Rules' hitmaker hinted she has been writing for a few other artists but specifically spoke about the track she created for Gwen Stefani's upcoming third solo album, due later this year, which she is excited about because the No Doubt front woman is an ''iconic'' performer.
She continued: ''I've been working with... Well Gwen's kind of the only one I can really talk about right now. It's cool, we haven't been in the studio together, it's been very much like I go in and then a couple of weeks later she'll go in say what she likes and do her thing.
''It's such an amazing experience to be able to work with her because she's so iconic and such a badass.''
Explaining how she decides which songs she keeps for herself, the 'Boom Clap' singer added: ''It's just really the connection for me, if I don't see the ideas of a music video when I'm writing the song then I'll know it's not for me.''
