The actress was faced with some bizarre and irrelevant interview questions when face to face with 'The Project's Jonathan Hyla on Wednesday.
Awkward interview everybody! Gather round! Cinderella actress Cate Blanchett endured a rather pointless series of questions that had little or nothing to do with her role in the Disney blockbuster, ending with her losing her cool and swearing on national television.
During a chat on Australian TV show ‘The Project’, the former Oscar winner was expecting to answer some questions about her role as Cinderella’s wicked stepmother, but instead was asked some eccentric questions from interviewer Jonathan Hyla about beer, vodka and why the movie wasn’t R-rated.
Cate Blanchett lost her cool with some bizarre questions on Australian TV
She seemed to grow increasingly exasperated until she was asked a question about a cat that appears in the film. “Okay, serious question, how were you able to get that cat to do what you wanted it to do on a leash?” Hyla asked. “I tried to put my girlfriend's cat on a leash and it just never works for me!”

At which point Blanchett lost her cool completely, turning around in her chair looking for her publicist before responding “that’s your question? That’s your f***ing question?” in disbelief.
She promptly brought the interview to an end with a sarcastic “nice to meet you?” before Hyla cringingly tried a high five. They both missed.
The interview had not started well, with Hyla suggesting he should have brought beer to break the ice at the meeting. Blanchett insisted that she didn’t drink beer, saying that she preferred vodka instead. She then became irritated at his strange sequence of questions.
She even attempted to save Hyla, trying to direct the conversation back towards the Kenneth Branagh-directed movie, saying “getting back to the movie at hand - one of us has got to do our job...” Ouch.
Hyla seemed to take the incident with a pinch of salt, saying on Twitter later on Wednesday “Thanks to my new favorite person Cate Blanchett for what might have been the best worst interview…”
