Team USA swimmers might be focused on the weeks ahead at the London 2012 Olympics but they've found enough time to take a few moments from their busy training schedules and piece together a motivational video, ahead of the Games. The team have posted the video on YouTube, which shows them all lip-synching to one of their favourite songs. So, what's the song, we hear you ask? 'Eye of the Tiger?' No. 'Simply the Best?' No. That 'Survival' song that Muse went to the trouble of writing especially for the Olympics? Nope. It's 'Call Me Maybe' by Carly Rae Jepsen. Yep. It's that.
The video has already racked up over 300,00 plays on YouTube and apparently, it's the song that the team love to have playing on their iPods as their "pump-up song" before they hit the pool. It's a favourite amongst many of the team and the video was masterminded by Alyssa Anderson, Kathleen Hersey and Caitlin Leverenz. Some of the scenes in the lip-synched video consists of candid footage of the group, whereas others are choreographed, such as the scene of various members of the female swim team dancing in the aisle of an aeroplane.
It's not just the girls taking part, though. Some of the male swimmers are also involved, though on the whole, they are looking a little more sheepish than their female team mates. Michael Phelps can be seen giving a wink, whilst Ryan Lochte gives a little wink to the camera.
