Carey Mulligan admits she got drunk and ruined her Prada gown at the Oscars in 2010 after being nominated for Best Actress.
Carey Mulligan got drunk at the Oscars and ruined her gown.
The 'Inside Llewyn Davis' star wore an adventurous black Prada dress to the Academy Awards in 2010, when she was nominated for Best Actress for her role in 'An Education', and says by the end of the night she had destroyed her dress.
She told British VOGUE: ''When I went to the Oscars - the only time I've ever been to the Oscars - a few years ago, I wore this Prada dress covered in cooking utensils.
''I got drunk at the end of the night and started ripping them off and giving them as presents to people, so that was fun. I'm pretty sure that was the point of it, that's how Miuccia [Prada] meant for it to go I'm sure.''
The 28-year-old actress is now promoting her latest film 'Inside Llewyn Davis', directed by the Coen Brothers, which premiered at Cannes Film Festival last year and hits cinema screens today (24.01.14).
Carey plays the wife of Llewyn's best friend, played by Justin Timberlake, and had to performing a duet with him, while her real-life husband, Marcus Mumford, frontman of Mumford & Sons, sings on the film's soundtrack.
She gushed: ''I was nervous about singing, but Justin was so sweet about it, knowing that he'd be quite an intimidating person to sing with. He is the nicest guy, so funny, he's the gag man - he jokes around, tells stories and is just really fun.''
