Cameron Diaz is determined to age naturally after having a bad experience with Botox, which left her face looking ''weird''.
Cameron Diaz thought having Botox made her face look ''weird''.
The 41-year-old actress admits she had the skin-smoothing injections in the past to enhance her looks, but she hated the results and is now determined to age naturally and gracefully.
She told 'Entertainment Tonight': ''I've tried [Botox] before, where it was like [a] little tiny touch of something. It changed my face in such a weird way that I was like, 'No, I don't want to [be] like [that].' I'd rather see my face ageing than a face that doesn't belong to me at all.''
The 'Counsellor' star has learnt to embrace her wrinkles in stead of trying to banish them because she believes each line on her face tells a story and shows that she's spent her whole life smiling.
She explained: ''I love it, I don't mind. It's like, 'Guess what this means, I've smiled my whole life.' I love life. I'm happy I don't have a problem with that.''
Meanwhile, the blonde beauty admits she used to struggle with bad acne as a youngster and spent years trying to get her oily skin under control, which shattered her confidence.
She said: ''It was embarrassing, and I did everything I could think of to make it go away.
''I tried to cover it with make-up. I tried to get rid of it with medication: oral, topical, even the harshest prescriptions. Nothing helped for very long.
''It was really challenging to cover them up for the cameras. It was awkward and embarrassing and frustrating, and I always felt really bad about myself.''
