Calvin Harris' latest track, 'I Need Your Love', featuring singer Ellie Goulding, climbed up to number seven on the Official Chart at the weekend and while his continued run of form in the charts is impressive, the success of this particular song was extra special. With his latest chart entry, the DJ and producer from Dumfries, Scotland became the first artist ever to have eight top 10 hits in the UK from one studio album, 18 Months.

The Scot smashed the record previously held by Michael Jackson, who managed 7 top ten hits in the UK from two albums, 1987's Bad and the 1991 follow-up record Dangerous. The campaign for eight simultaneous hits began almost two years ago, when the Kelis featuring 'Bounce' made it to number two in the charts. Since then he has collaborated with the likes of Rihanna, Ne-Yo and Florence Welsh from Florence + the Machine to make him one of Scotland's most successful chart acts. Official Charts Company boss Martin Talbot thought the feat was particularly praiseworthy of Harris' accomplishment, telling the BBC, "Many artists only achieve a handful of hits in their entire careers, so for any act to secure three or four from one album is an excellent achievement."

Understandably so, Harris was particularly pleased with himself too, as the star took to Twitter to exclaim his joy. He tweeted: "Eight Top 10s from my album 18 Months now! So happy!!!" The cheeky Scot, who has a reputation of regularly updating his Twitter and Instagram feed with humorous content, posted a follow-up Tweet soon after so he could share the secret behind his success; The Vault of Fortune.
