Calvin Harris feels he ''can be himself'' around Taylor Swift.

The 31-year-old Scottish DJ - who previously dated a string of beauties including Rita Ora - and the 'Blank Space' hitmaker feel truly safe and secure in each other's company.

A source said: ''Calvin's had a makeover, but he used to be dorky. He can just be himself with Taylor. He doesn't have to act like someone he's not.''

The 25-year-old beauty, who previously dated Harry Styles, Conor Kennedy, Jake Gyllenhaal, John Mayer, Joe Jonas and Taylor Lautner, is believed to be smitten with the 'Summer' hitmaker, but asked him to take things slowly.

The insider explained to US OK! magazine: ''She's been linked to so many famous and eligible bachelors. But at the end of the day, she wants to be wined and dined - and she's vowed not to just 'lie down' for anyone.

''Instead of walking away, Calvin embraced her decision. It's not a turn-off or challenge for him - in fact, he loves this about her. He's patient and caring, and that's everything she's been looking for.''

A source previously claimed the couple clicked because Calvin sees Taylor as his equal, saying: ''Women throw themselves at him. He can never tell if they are really interested in him as a person or if the attention is just because of his fame and fortune. But when he met Taylor, it was different. For the first time in a long time here was someone who was his equal.

''They have a mutual respect for one another. They understand one another. They are on the same level and that's been a good starting point for both of them.''
