Caitlyn Jenner celebrated her new identity at a renaming ceremony.

The 65-year-old former Olympian marked her transition to female at the special event, which was presided over by minister Allyson Dylan Robinson, and saw the 'I Am Cait' star's new friends from the transgender community, including Jenny Boylan, Candis Cayne and Chandi Moore, speak out during the service.

The minister opened the service by discussing the power of names before the reality star declared she wanted to be known as 'Caitlyn Marie Jenner'.

Allyson said: ''Our friend, our sister, comes before you seeking a new name by which to be known.

''Bless her as she steps across this boundary in your name, which above all other names, is love.''

During the readings, Chandi said: ''I can't think of a time ever that I've so celebrated being trans.''

And Candis, who performed 'Amazing Grace' backed by a choir, said spending time with the 'I Am Cait' star - with who she has been romantically linked - to raise awareness about transgender issued had ''changed her life forever''.

Meanwhile, Jenny read out an e.e. cummings poem entitled 'i thank You God for most this amazing', and Boy George also made a special appearance.

Caitlyn admitted she finally feels she ''fits in'' and can be her ''authentic self''.

She said: ''It has been an amazing journey, and I'm seeing all of it come true.

''I'm in a great place in life and, for the first time, I feel like I fit in some place. Being my authentic self. Thank you.''

And the star admitted she is feeling good about the difference she has already made for the transgender community, but knows there is still work to be done.

In a closing video diary for the 'I Am Cait' finale, she said: ''I want to help people in my community. We have a long way to go, but at least we've got a really really really good beginning. And that makes my heart feel good.''
