Bryan Singer finally speaks out after being sued for allegedly sexually abusing a 15 year-old boy in 1999.
The federal lawsuit, which was filed in Hawaii on Wednesday (April 16th) by Michael Egan, states that the 48 year-old filmmaker raped and drugged the minor, as part of an alleged Hollywood sex ring.
The 'X-Men: Days Of Future Past' director released a statement addressing the claims on Thursday (April 24th).
"The allegations against me are outrageous, vicious and completely false. I do not want these fictitious claims to divert ANY attention from 'X Men: Days of Future Past'. This fantastic film is a labor of love and one of the greatest experiences of my career," he said.
Singer also announced that due to the nature of these allegations he will not partake in any promotional work for the upcoming 'X-Men' film.
"So, out of respect to all of the extraordinary contributions from the incredibly talented actors and crew involved, I've decided not to participate in the upcoming media events for the film. However, I promise when this situation is over, the facts will show this to be the sick twisted shake down it is. I want to thank fans, friends and family for all their amazing and overwhelming support," the statement concluded.
