Bruno Mars has pleaded guilty to cocaine possession at a court in Las Vegas.
BRUNO MARS, the American R&B artist who scooped a GRAMMY AWARD at Sunday's ceremony (13th February 2011), has pleaded guilty to cocaine possession but has been spared jail, reports Fox News.Mars was told by Clark County District Judge JESSIE WALSH that he will not be going to prison for his wrongdoing, but that he will be on probation. Mars was also ordered to pay a $2,000 fine and perform 200 hours of community service at a non-profit organisation. He will also spend eight hours with a drug counsellor in Los Angeles. The 25-year-old was arrested back in September 2010 in a bathroom at Vegas' Hard Rock Hotel after being found with a bag of cocaine. His Las Vegas lawyer RICHARD SCHONFELD told the Judge that Mars intends to meet the requirements. BLAIR BERK, the singer's Los Angeles lawyer, said that Mars appreciates the chance he was getting as a first-time offender.
Mars recently announced plans to head out on a joint tour with Janelle Monae. The 'Hooligans in Wondaland' tour, which begins at the Roseland Ballroom in New York on 4th May 2011, will pass through the likes of Atlanta, Miami, Chicago, Seattle and Vancouver, before finishing at the Comerica Theatre in Phoenix on 15th June 2011.
