Britney Spears paints topless.

The 'Pretty Girls' hitmaker has revealed she has a choice attire for her creative afternoons in her art room when she paints to the soundtrack of Mariah Carey's greatest hits album.

She said: ''I love Mariah Carey. Still to this day. I was painting in my room. I have an art room, and I just paint on the walls and do all this kind of crazy stuff.

''I bought her greatest hits, and her new Infinity record yesterday, and I was just in there with my top off, just like painting and doing all this artsy fartsy stuff. I love her. I love her voice.''

When asked on Sydney's 2Day FM if she normally walks around topless, she replied: ''In my art room, that's my place ... It's the best.''

Meanwhile, an insider previously claimed the 33-year-old singer was keen on commissioning a nude portrait of herself.

A source said: ''Britney's been getting in better and better shape since she split with Kevin and wants her body immortalised in a portrait.

''She loves the film 'Titanic', especially the scene where Kate Winslet's character Rose gets painted in the nude. She wants it tastefully done, though, and is looking for the right artist to do it.''
