Britney Spears was left red-faced when a clump of her hair extensions fell out while she was performing a rigorous dance routine onstage in Las Vegas.

The Stronger hitmaker was in the middle of a rendition of her hit single Do Something at the Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino, where she currently has a residency, when the artificial hair became detached.

A sizeable chunk of the wig slid off her head as she energetically crossed the stage, and the embarrassing moment was caught on camera in video footage which has emerged online.

Spears refused to let the mishap upset her, and she continued with her performance without stopping.

In 2013, Spears suffered another slip-up during her residency when her top popped open at the back and dancers had to rush to assist her.
