The first trailer for Lifetime’s Britney Spears biopic has hit and it’s everything we could have hoped for.

The 30-second promo for ‘Britney Ever After’ touches on the singer’s infamous 2007 meltdown in which she shaved her head bald as well as her short-lived marriage to backing dancer Kevin Federline.

Australian actress Natasha Bassett stars as the pop princess, who went from small town life in Louisiana, to global superstardom after the release of first single ‘Baby One More Time’.

But as the Lifetime movie will explore, Britney’s life in the public eye hasn't always been smooth sailing. In 2007 the singer suffered a highly publicised ‘meltdown’ during which she shaved her head bald and attacked a paparazzi’s car with an umbrella.

In the trailer Bassett as Spears is heard explaining: “Everything’s just kinda this blur, you know ... until you hit rock bottom. I wanna be strong, for my fans. They’re what keeps me going.” The clip shows scenes of Britney performing on stage, intercut with clips of the star shaving her head and during her 2004 wedding to Kevin Federline.

The biopic does not have the approval of Spears herself, with a rep for the singer telling Entertainment Weekly in August that she will not be contributing “in any way, shape or form… nor does it have her blessing.”
