CBS drama ‘Limitless’ has been given a full season order, after pulling in impressive ratings since debuting in September. The freshman drama is a follow-up to the 2011 movie of the same name, which starred Bradley Cooper.

The series stars Jennifer Carpenter and Jake McDorman as Brian Fitch, a 28 year old who discovers the power of a mysterious drug called NZT-48. The drug allows Fitch to open the full possibility of his brain and gives him perfect recall of everything he has ever read, heard, or seen.

“We’re excited how 'Limitless' continues to evolve creatively each week and stand out with its unique style of storytelling,” president of CBS Entertainment Glenn Geller said in a statement. “It’s off to a strong start in a highly competitive environment.”
The series debuted in September to 9.86 million viewers and a 1.9 in the 18–49 demographic. The drama has so far won its time slot in viewers every week since its premiere and last week 7.9 million viewers tuned in, giving it a 1.4 demo rating.

The show will now go to 22 episodes in its first season, which airs Tuesdays at 10pm on CBS. ‘Limitless’ is the fourth new show to receive a full season order. ABC has also given nine additional episodes to comedy 'Dr. Ken', and six to drama 'Quantico'. At NBC, 'Blindspot' has also been given a full season order, while CBS has asked for six additional scripts for medical drama 'Code Black'.
