World War Z is upon us! Well, actually, World War Z is almost upon us...
The new Brad Pitt movie isn’t actually released until June 2013. Yes. June. 2013. That’s the middle of next year. But Entertainment Online have decided that if anyone’s going to start the hype early, it’s going to be them. “Only one man can save the world,” says their online trailer (they’re talking about Brad Pitt, by the way) “and only one show has the world exclusive first look” (they’re talking about their own show there, by the way).
Tomorrow (Thursday November 8, 2012), Entertainment Tonight will air their World War Z exclusive feature but in the mean time, you can catch a glimpse of what to expect from the movie in the brief trailer online. And what you can expect is a LOT of zombies. Like, a LOT of them. Piles and piles of zombies, cascading down a flight of stairs, more piles of zombies, storming around, trying to pile on top of each other and scale a wall. Just one, solitary zombie hurtling towards Brad Pitt, looking incredibly angry and hungry. More piles of zombies, writhing around, looking like the most expensive pile of zombies in movie history.
World War Z is directed by Marc Forster, of Quantum of Solace fame, so if you’re a fan of the good old-fashioned b-movie zombie, then you’ll have to re-adjust your mindset for this one. These are fast-moving, modern versions of the undead and they look as though they’ve been training with Usain Bolt. Be afraid. Be very afraid.
