Brad Pitt and Anjelina Joli have been together for seven years and have six children together

). Now approaching the ripe old age of 50 and having lived as a solid family for a significant amount of time, for everyone on the outside looking in it seems as though the couple are married anyway. However, they've both pledged not to wed until everyone can marry. In effect, they'll not say 'I do' until gay couples can do the same.

This is a stance that some other celebrity couples have taken, for instance Forgetting Sarah Marshall's Kristen Bell and her partner Dax Shepherd are doing the same. However, speaking to People magazine, Pitt has implied that actually their nuptials may come a bit earlier than that. "I am getting more pressure from my kids," he said, who obviously want their parents to be married- undoubtedly the girls would love to be bridesmaids for their mum. He added, "It is something I want to do within their lifetime, but I also feel like the time has come... We've had a family, we've raised the kids," he says. "I am surprised how much [marriage] meant to me once you had that... The time is nigh. It's soon. I got a good feeling about it." Hopefully he isn't referring only to his own marriage, but to same sex marriage nationally as well.

And as for wedding plans? Well, if their reason to marry is for family, then the wedding itself will stay the same. "Just family," Pitt says. "Keep it simple. Keep it simple - really."
