The country singer has decided to cal it quits with his wife for good.
Billy Ray Cyrus, Miley Cyrus' father, is to divorce his wife of 19-years, Tish Cyrus, with the country star revealing the news to People Magazine on Thursday (June 13). The singer released a small statement asking for privacy and saying that his marriage had fallen apart, seemingly for good.
The actual divorce comes three years after the couple had initially threatened to divorce, with the pair eventually reconciling, but not for long it seems. Cyrus' statement on the break-up of their marriage read; "This is a personal matter and we are doing what is in the best interest of our family. We ask that you respect our privacy at this time."
Meanwhile, Tish has filed papers for divorce herself, requesting primary physical and legal custody of their youngest daughter, Noah, 13, but giving visitation rights to Billy Ray. This was revealed in the court documents filed on Thursday (June 13) at the Los Angeles Superior Court, which also stated that Tish seeking spousal support and is demanding that Billy Ray also cover her attorney fees. There has yet to be any date made for divorce proceedings to take place, but expect it to happen before the end of 2013.
After 16-years together, Billy Ray and Tish first considered divorce in 2010, however managed to stay together for their children. With their 20th anniversary nearing though, the pair have decided that enough is enough and their time together has ended on a sour patch. No further comment has been made from either Billy Ray or Tish, or any of their children, including Miley.
