Bill Murray gatecrashes a bachelor party and gives advice to the groom, yes this one definitely happened.
Of all the actors you could want to crash your bachelor party, Bill Murray’s got to pretty high on that list. Well for EJ, a student celebrating his impending wedding in Charleston over Memorial Day weekend it happened. Yes Bill Murray became the unexpected star guest of the party when he crashed the festivities and offered some helpful advice.

There are many amazing stories of random Bill Murray encounters out there, we even once complied a list of our ten favourites. But the latest tale of Murray randomness ranks pretty high on the awesome scale. In the video, first published by Deadspin, Murray can be seen dishing out some helpful advice to the awestruck groom-to-be whilst his ecstatic buddies cheer him on.
The story goes that the group of 20 friends including future groom EJ, where celebrating at at Charleston steakhouse when one member saw that Murray was dining downstairs. They then tried to send a few drinks Murray’s way, which the actor declined. One of the friends then went down to Murray and asked him if he’d mind coming up and saying a few words to EJ, but Bill said no.

But it didn't end there, just two minutes later Murray appeared to have a change of heart and came upstairs to the party and began doling out some priceless advice to the groom and his party. Bill started by asking EJ’s friends if they’d give his bride to be a thumbs up, to which the friends gave a unanimous yes. Murray then said he'd had “a little experience with this” (the actor has been married twice before) and went on to give his thoughts on both marriage and bachelor parties. This is where it gets really good.

Murray said, “You know how funerals are not for the dead, they're for the living? Bachelor parties are not for the groom, they're for the uncommitted.” He then directed some advice towards the unattached members of the party, because it was “too late” for the groom. “‘If you have someone that you think is The One, don't just sort of think in your ordinary mind, Okay, let's pick a date. Let's plan this and make a party and get married,” he began. “Take that person and travel around the world. Buy a plane ticket for the two of you to travel all around the world, and go to places that are hard to go to and hard to get out of,” said the actor. “And if when you come back to JFK, when you land in JFK, and you're still in love with that person, get married at the airport”, he finished.

We’ve got to hand it to Bill, that was some pretty good advice and EJ and his friends seem to have agreed. As far as Murray encounters go, ‘the time Bill Murray crashed a bachelor party’ is now up there with the best of them. Who knows where Bill will appear next? Maybe a wedding, a bar mitzvah or a random Halloween party, oh wait he’s done the last one. But for EJ and his friends they’ve just had an unforgettable bachelor party and become part of the ever growing Murray legend.
