A new report claims Beyonce and Jay Z are not impressed that Kanye West married Kim Kardashian - who shot to fame after her sex tape was released - and refused to attend their nuptials in Italy in May.
Beyonce Knowles and Jay Z skipped Kim Kardashian and Kanye West's wedding because it reportedly wasn't classy enough for their brand.
A new report claims the duo are not impressed that Jay Z's close pal Kanye married the reality TV star - who shot to fame after her sex tape was released - and refused to attend the nuptials in Italy in May.
A source told the New York Post's Page Six: ''They are guarding like hell their status. Beyonce wasn't going to allow a Kardashian to socially climb her. And Jay didn't want Kanye with Kim - he thinks it's bad for business. I think Jay lost a little respect for Kanye there.''
The insider added it's not who they hang out with, it's ''it's who hangs out with them''.
Meanwhile, Kanye recently revealed he used his wedding speech to talk about how ''celebrities have no rights''.
The 'Gold Digger' hitmaker gave a 45-minute toast at his nuptials to Kim - with whom he has 13-month-old daughter North - in Florence, Italy, in May, and says he used the opportunity to explain how he and his new wife want to ''fight'' for more respect, comparing the way they are treated to ''blacks in the '60s''.
He explained to America's GQ magazine: ''What I talked about in it was the idea of celebrity, and celebrities being treated like blacks were in the '60s, having no rights, and the fact that people can slander your name. I said that in the toast.
''And I had to say this in a position where I, from the art world, am marrying Kim. And how we're going to fight to raise the respect level for celebrities so that my daughter can live a more normal life. She didn't choose to be a celebrity. But she is. So I'm going to fight to make sure she has a better life.''
