Mrs Carter was back in full force in Belgrade this Tuesday.
Last night saw the kickoff of Beyonce’s long awaited world tour with the first show in Belgrade, Serbia.
After what can only be called a couple of turbulent week, getting flack over her Cuba trip and being accused of anti-feminism for her new songs, Bey was back in full force – with a performance (and outfits) that were designed to shock the fans as much as thrill them. One notable little number from the night was the “nipple” bodysuit that Bey rocked at one point during the show. With fashion choices like that, the R&B songstress is almost competing with “Fame Monster” era Lady Gaga.
One thing that was notably missing from Mrs Carter’s repertoire, however, were the new songs. While she has released the single “Bow Down/ I Been On” off the new album, it looks like even the fans who have paid for tickets, won’t get to enjoy an extended preview. Still, the lady didn’t disappoint and performed some of her biggest hits for the Serbian audience.Bey kicked off the night with “Run the World (Girls)” and powered through some of her biggest solo hits, with a little Destiny’s Child sprinkled in for good measure. The night ended on a high note with everyone’s favorite shower ballad, “Halo”. So all in all, a solid start to the tour. We can’t help but wonder though, when will fans get to listen to the new album in full?
Obviously, Beyonce can still rock more than just a bikini.
