Beyonce Knowles has a new stepmother.

The 31-year-old singer's father, Matthew Knowles, 61, tied the knot with former model, Gena Charmaine Avery, 48, in Houston, Texas, last Sunday (30.06.13).

A spokesperson for Matthew, who managed his daughter during her rise to stardom as a teenager with Destiny's Child until 2011, confirmed he had been engaged for approximately 18 months before marrying the realtor in a low-key ceremony, which Beyoncé is believed to have missed as she is currently on tour.

Matthew split from the 'Love On Top' hitmaker's mother Tina Knowles, with whom he also has another daughter, Solange, 27, in 2009 after it was revealed he had an affair and a baby boy, Nixon, with actress Alexsandra Wright.

He was recently issued a huge lien for $1.2 million by the US tax department, the Internal Revenue Service (IRS), for unpaid tax bills from 2010 and 2011.

The music manager, who still oversees the careers of several gospel singers, previously admitted he found it ''incredibly painful'' to cut professional ties with Beyoncé.

Despite Matthew claiming it was joint decision for him to stop being her manager, Beyoncé - who has 18-month-old daughter Blue Ivy with her rapper husband Jay-Z - later revealed their split has taken a toll on their personal relationship.
