Computer game developer Gate Five is suing Beyonce Knowles for $100 million after she walked away from a motion dance project last year.
Beyonce Knowles is being sued for $100 million for "abandoning" a dance game project.
The 30-year-old star - who is currently pregnant with her first child - had her request to dismiss the lawsuit by company Gate Five dismissed by Manhattan Supreme Court Judge Charles Ramos, which claims she walked away from a deal to create motion-sensor dance video game 'Starpower: Beyonce'.
Gate Five claim her abrupt leaving of the project meant they lost an initial $7 million investment, causing them to miss out on $100 million worth of profits and casing 70 people to be made redundant a week before Christmas 2010.
However, the 'Love on Top' hitmaker's lawyers claimed she had the right to pull out after the company was unable to fulfil contractual obligations to obtain $5 million.
Judge Ramos made the decision to reject Beyonce's team's request without any explanation, meaning she is liable for a deposition.
Gate Five is seeking damages for the cost of the project and are hoping to get an injunction which would mean she is unable to work on any future computer games.
