The first 'Sherlock' episode to be set in Victorian London.
By now, fans are used to being drip fed episodes of 'Sherlock' - what more can you expect with two award-winning Hollywood actors in the lead roles? - but ever since Steven Moffat and Mark Gatiss revealed the Victorian theme of the next Christmas special, fans have been gasping with thirst.
Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman return to the 1800s in 'The Abominable Bride'
Now, the official title has been announced! Alongside a launch date (alas, AFTER Christmas). And yet, we're still rather in the dark about what to expect. Here's what we know so far:
1. The episode will be entitled 'The Abominable Bride'. Not many titular clues have been given away; it doesn't come close to matching a story title from Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's original tales; however, Gatiss did let us into a little secret at London Comic Con in that it is in reference to Holmes casual comment regarding 'Ricoletti of the club foot and his abominable wife', stated in 'The Musgrave Ritual'.

2. It will be set in 1885 - Victorian London. One of the main appeals of the BBC One show is that it is a classic Victorian character in a modern-day setting, but now creators have decided to throw a curveball in there by adopting the original setting with the new episode which could prove particularly interesting for Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman.

3. It has been directed by Douglas Mackinnon ('Doctor Who', 'Line Of Duty') who has also signed on to direct the upcoming 2015 'Doctor Who' Christmas Special. Busy year for Mackinnon! Plus, he's also currently working on a comedy entitled 'Whatever Love Is'.
4. 'The Abominable Bride' is set to air on BBC One on New Year's Day. Not only that, it is also set to hit more than 100 cinemas across the UK for one night only, in an event that will also see glimpses behind the scenes and a tour of 221B Baker Street from Moffat himself. Tickets are set to go on sale on November 2nd 2015.

'Sherlock on the big screen. For us, it's a giant leap backwards - into Victorian London. The mean streets of 1895 have never looked so good!' Says Moffat.
