Affleck was recently confirmed to be NOT directing 'The Batman', despite many rumours that he would be doing so.
Amid increasing reports that Ben Affleck is losing creative control of his involvement in the upcoming stand-alone Batman movie, further reports are suggesting that the star is considering quitting his role as The Caped Crusader altogether.
Having already ruled himself out of directing The Batman, something that had been rumoured for months, and added to recent reports that the script for it that he’d been working on was being re-written, it’s now being rumoured that the 44 year old star is looking to quit as Batman entirely.
According to entertainment news site Collider, three separate sources involved with studio Warner Bros. have stated over the last four days that Affleck is seeking to extricate himself from the prestigious role.
Is Ben Affleck thinking about quitting as Batman?
Reporter John Campea, the host of ‘Collider Movie Talk’, said: “Over the past four days, I’ve talked to three separate people, who are connected in some way, to what is going on over at Warner Bros…. They’re telling me that Ben Affleck, make no mistake, he does want out.”
“He doesn’t want to be Batman anymore. I have been told that Affleck is talking with Warner Bros. in an attempt to get out of being Batman.”

If true, and no agreement can be reached about his future involvement, The Batman would represent his final appearance as the masked superhero on screen, following the poorly received Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice nearly a year ago, Suicide Squad, the upcoming Justice League and possibly its sequel.
While Matt Reeves, the director of Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, is apparently set to take over in what might have been Affleck’s role behind the camera, Ridley Scott is also rumoured to be “in the wings” to helm it, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
