Ben Affleck Is Glad His Acting Career Didn't Work Out As A Child

Ben Affleck has said he’s glad his career as a child actor didn't work out, because he was able to properly enjoy his childhood.

The 44-year-old began his showbiz career way back in 1984, but didn't find success until he was older.

Speaking on ‘The Tonight Show’ with Jimmy Fallon, Affleck relived his past career as a child actor. "I did do some child acting,” he said.

"Luckily I didn't end up on a show and get famous and go on crack and get crazy. I had a normal childhood. My mother let me go do this thing and then forced me to come home."

"It was a PBS series called 'Voyage of the Mimi'. It was for kids. Educational, kind of.

"You're laughing, but it's not a joke!” he told Fallon.

“It combined science and math topics with an interesting adventure that a young man took with scientists,"

"I still feel like I have to pitch it!" he added. "It was a lot of fun. We had a good time.” The series originally aired in 1984 and 30 years later it became available on iTunes U.

On Thursday’s show Fallon showed a clip from one of the episodes and Affleck couldn’t help but be embarrassed by his teenaged voice.

"That was before I had testicles,” he joked. “I used to get all mad at the operator. I'd be like, 'I'm not a woman!' She'd be like, 'Sorry, ma'am.'"
