As if being an Oscar winner, Hollywood's hottest director and having the ability to grow one hell of a beard isn't enough, Ben Affleck is now a doctor. The Argo filmmaker will receive an honorary doctorate degree from Brown University during their 245th Commencement on May 26, 2013. According to the college's website, Affleck will be decorated with a  degree in fine arts.

Though the actor and director gave stirring speeches at this year's Golden Globes and Oscars, he will not be the commencement speaker at the ceremony, despite some reports to the contrary. Affleck will receive his degree for his work directing, producing and starring in some of the finest movies of the past couple of decades. His latest movie Argo, about the Iranian hostage crisis in 1979, won best picture at both ceremonies after being heralded by critics as one of the finest drama-thrillers of recent times. It follows the true story of a mission to rescue six Americans trapped in Iran during the hostage crisis by creating an elaborate fake sci-fi movie.

Affleck will not be the only big name receiving his doctorate on May 26. Novelist Junot Diaz, bacteriologist Stanley Falkow, the Tougaloo College President Beverly Wade Hogan, physician and health care president Risa Lavizzo-Mourey and Miami Dade College President Eduardo Padron will also receive honors.

The news comes as Ben Affleck prepares to live off just $1.50 per day in support of the Live Below The Line campaign. The cause has been championed previously by the likes of Thor: The Dark World actor Tim Hiddleston and Les Miserables star Hugh Jackman.
