Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner are divorcing.

The couple - who were married for ten years and have three children, 9-year-old Violet, 6-year-old Seraphina, and 3-year-old Samuel, together - have confirmed they are splitting up.

In a statement, the couple said: ''After much thought and careful consideration, we have made the difficult decision to divorce.

''We go forward with love and friendship for one another and a commitment to co-parenting our children whose privacy we ask to be respected during this difficult time.''

Rumours about the pair splitting were fuelled most recently when moving vans were spotted outside the family home.

Meanwhile, a source previously claimed the pair's marriage was ''in trouble'' and that there had been problems from the ''very beginning''.

They said: ''Where there's smoke, there's fire. The marriage is in trouble ...

''[They] have had problems from the very beginning.''

The source also alleged it was Ben's ''workaholic'' nature and ''many vices,'' which caused the couple to call time on their marriage.

Another insider also previously insisted Jennifer had been ''preparing'' for divorce, emotionally.

They shared: ''Jen has actually been preparing herself emotionally for this divorce for some time.''
