The Beach Boys have confirmed plans to reunite and tour in 2012.
Al Jardine recently revealed the existing members of the surf-pop act were planning to reform for a performance at the Grammy Awards in February (12) and now it seems he'll be teaming up with Brian Wilson, Mike Love and Bruce Johnston to hit the road for a huge 50th anniversary celebration.
The quartet has also recorded new material for an album, which will be released alongside a hits collection and a career-spanning box set.
The Beach Boys tour will kick off with a headlining performance at the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival in Louisiana in April (12).
Wilson tells Billboard.com, "This anniversary is special to me because I miss the boys and it will be a thrill for me to make a new record and be onstage with them again."
Love adds, "It's a thrill to be around a piano again with Brian, Alan and Bruce and experience firsthand the brilliance of Cousin Brian's gift for vocal arrangements."
